About Me

For a while my Twitter biography said: “I have a thing for… lighthouses, Scotland, chocolate, the colour blue, Sunrise Avenue, Patrick Dempsey and Jamie Fraser” and while that is me in a nutshell, this page here should list some more (random) facts.

Female | mid-Thirties | born, raised and still living in a small town somewhere in Germany.

I always preferred writing to talking. But I also always felt a strong need to communicate or to put my thoughts into words, so starting a blog someday was inevitable.

When I talk, I talk fast and I talk a lot. And no, this does in no way contradict the previous statement.

English is my favourite language. I like to believe I got that from my dad, who was an English teacher.

I also got a few things from my mom. Sadly her excellent housekeeping skills were not among them. I tend to be a slob, much to her disappointment.

I freely admit, that I would be lost without my smartphone. And without internet in general.

I’m not much into sports. With two exceptions: I like riding my bike in the summer and I love watching hockey in the winter.

I excel at procrastination. Still managed to graduate university in 2001 with a degree in Town & Regional Planning. Right now I’m working on a 2nd degree (Master of Enviromental Science). Procrastination tends to get in the way of that sometimes. But so does work, political activities and health issues.

I’ve been living with Multiple Sclerosis for almost 15 years now. I try to not make a big deal about it and I’ve managed to live a pretty ordinary life even with this disease so far. Every once in a while the MS is trying to kick my butt, but I’ll do my best to fight back.

“My favourite colour is blue, not light blue, indigo.” I know Derek ‘McDreamy’ Shepherd said that first, but I couldn’t have said it any better. In regards to “political colours”, I’m Green through and through and I try to live it.

I don’t read as much as I used to, but still more than the average person, I think.

I love going to the movies, but I admit that I don’t do that as often as I used to when I was younger (and had much more free time on my hands).

I watch way too much TV series. I tend to get hooked easily and once I’m hooked I can’t stop watching. This all shows that I also excel at having  little self-control.

The blog title is the title of my favourite Sunrise Avenue song. I love the song, because ever since I listened to it for the first time I could and still can relate to the lyrics and the mood of the song .

Any time I spend listening to music of Sunrise Avenue, watching Patrick Dempsey on TV or ‘visiting’ Jamie Fraser in his world, I consider time well spent.
